Have you had dermal fillers and are unsatisfied with the results? Enchanted Medical Aesthetics proudly offers a dedicated Dissolving Clinic designed for those who are unhappy with their previous dermal fillers. Often, dermal fillers dissolving in Ormond Beach, FL, can create unwanted aesthetic effects or complications if not injected properly. Thankfully, hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers can be reversed by dissolving with an injectable called hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid in Ormond Beach, FL. At Enchanted Medical Aesthetics, we offer this service with the use of Hylenex. Our first step to helping you with your undesired filler is a consultation with one of our medical providers. During this consultation, our aesthetic specialists will assess your face, asking questions to clarify what changes you are desiring in your appearance. At Enchanted Medical Aesthetics, we also recommend that you provide the type of dermal filler you have had placed and how long ago. After reviewing your medical records, your provider will create a customized treatment plan for improving your appearance and helping to dissolve the unwanted filler.

Hylenex is an injectable treatment used to reverse the results of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Hylenex is made from hyaluronidase, an enzyme that acts as a dispersion agent, breaking down hyaluronic acid through hydrolysis. It’s a naturally occurring enzyme that is purified to dissolve dermal fillers.
No. Unfortunately, only dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Other semi-permanent and permanent fillers cannot be removed with hyaluronidase.
At Enchanted Medical Aesthetics, we recommend waiting two weeks after dissolving old filler to replace it with new filler. This allows for any swelling to dissipate and ensures that the hyaluronidase will not affect any new filler.
Yes! Many patients now opt for a more natural look- which no longer includes fillers. For those looking for a more subtle augmentation, we recommend waiting two weeks before re-injecting.
Injections for dissolving filler are typically quite comfortable. We apply a strong numbing cream to the area before administering the local anesthetic, along with the dissolving agent. This ensures the procedure is as comfortable as possible. All in all, it’s a simple and straightforward process that can have remarkable results.
We use a needle to inject the dissolving enzyme into the skin, so there’s the potential for bruising. There’s normally some swelling as the treated filler liquifies instead of staying in gel form, and that can take up to two weeks to settle down. This can be a bit uncomfortable, but it’s all part of the process. Keep in mind that it’s a necessary step in order to achieve your goals.
Some clients may need multiple dissolving sessions to reach their aesthetic goals or to be a candidate for additional dermal filler. For a more accurate estimate on how many sessions you will need- please book a consultation.
If you’re unsure if dissolving is the correct next step in your aesthetic journey- call the office to book a consultation with one of our expert aesthetic injectors and founders of Enchanted’s Dissolving clinic, Bridget Martin or Cheryl Kimmel.
